Message: “Revelation – The Judgment of Babylon and the Beast” from Jared Jenkins
A message from the series “2025 – Persevere in Faith – The Book of Revelation – The Things That Must Soon Take Place.” This week we will continue our study in Revelation looking at Revelation 17-19:5. This really is a zoom in on the seventh bowl and God’s wrath on those that oppose him in the world. The world in these chapters is likened to the ancient city Babylon. Babylon is then pictured as a beautiful and rich prostitute that, empowered by Satan, has deceived the whole world with her wares. God is coming in judgment against the world and Satan and will defeat them both. The world will mourn and the saints will rejoice.
God’s call to us in the midst of these images comes in Revelation 18:4 “Come out of her, my people…” In other words, don’t get caught up in the world’s deception and find yourself estranged from God and in sin. Rather, come out the world and live a separate and distinct life to God that is holy, living in the grace of God, and being a witness in the world.
This is a timely message for us as God’s children trying to persevere in the world by faith. The world’s deception through riches, sex, and power is powerful and persuasive and can lead us far from God. We as God’s people must learn to distinguish what is of God and what is not, and not live like the world. I think this passage will challenge each one of us to evaluate our lives and see if we are living for the things of the world or God. As God reveals our hearts, he extends us the grace of his forgiveness and the power of his spirit to come out of Babylon and live a life holy to him. What are the ways you are living like the world? What is God asking you to set down and begin living for him in a new way today?
Come and join the gathering of the body of Christ this week as we celebrate all that he has done to save us. Let’s be a people that are learning to come out of Babylon on our journey to the new heavenly city of God.
Message: “Revelation – The Seven Bowls” from Jared Jenkins
A message from the series “2025 – Persevere in Faith – The Book of Revelation – The Things That Must Soon Take Place.” As the nation readies itself for the yearly battle between two of the best NFL teams tomorrow, we will be preparing ourselves for the final battle that will occur between God and the world. Revelation 15-16 gives us a glimpse of the final battle that Satan and the world are preparing to wage against God. No need to worry for believers, God will win and already has. God will put down this final rebellion once and for all. God will be true to his character and bring about justice and righteousness in the world. These chapters in Revelation recount the seven bowls of God’s wrath that God’s angels will pour out on the world to accomplish this last fight. Jesus warns us this last battle could come at any time. He also encourages us to be ready for the fight. How do we do that? Jesus says, stay awake and keep yourself clothed in the righteous clothes he provides. In other words we need to be ready and aware of what the evil world is doing around us and not be deceived by their tricks. We are to persevere in faith, continue to do the things of Christians, and keep trusting God. Once God wins the battle we will worship him forever.
Message: “Revelation – The Great Harvest” from Jared Jenkins
A message from the series “2025 – Persevere in Faith – The Book of Revelation – The Things That Must Soon Take Place.” This Sunday we will dive into Revelation 14 which shows us what will be the end of believers and unbelievers when Jesus returns. This is the first passage in Revelation that shows us Jesus returning to the earth and what will happen as He does so. Believers will be kept secure in the new city of God singing praises to the Father and the Son about their work of salvation in their lives. Unbelievers will face the wrath of God as Jesus comes to judge the earth, and for those that don’t repent, eternal destruction in Hell.
Jesus coming is pictured as a harvest. He is coming to harvest both believers and unbelievers and gather His people into His house, and cast out unbelievers to the fire. This is both an encouraging passage for those that know Jesus, but also a sobering passage as we think about all those that don’t know Jesus. How should we respond to a passage like this? One, give our lives to Christ. Two, keep persevering in faith all the way to the end. Three, join God’s mission to save people out of the world. How is God calling you to respond to this passage?
Message: “Revelation – The Woman and the Dragon” from Jared Jenkins
A message from the series “2025 – Persevere in Faith – The Book of Revelation – The Things That Must Soon Take Place.” Due to technical issues we are unable to offer an audio only version of today’s sermon.
Today we will jump into Chapter 12 & 13 of the book of Revelation. This is a great section of scripture that gives us a grand metaphor for what God is doing in the world to save his people and our place in it. The history of redemption is likened to an ongoing saga between a woman who is giving birth and a great dragon. If you like novels about dragons, these chapters are for you! God’s people by faith are pictured as the woman through whom God will bring forth Christ. The dragon plays the part of Satan who is ready to swallow up God’s Son as soon as he is born and stop God’s work of redemption. Of course God superintends and saves his Son accomplishing salvation for the nations, and Satan in response wages an ongoing war against the woman and all her children until Christ returns. God’s promise to his people is that he will save them, take care of them, and protect them as they journey through the exodus of this life to the New Heavens and New Earth.
This passage reminds us that despite how the world may appear to us, we are in a pitched spiritual battle. Nothing is neutral and Christians must always be on the lookout trying to discern where the next attack may come from and who is with God or not. The good news is Satan has been defeated in heaven and by the cross and we will overcome our enemy through the Gospel. Because of the Gospel there is no more condemnation for those in Christ. We have been cleansed by the blood of the Lamb and Satan cannot accuse us anymore. We may still face suffering at his hands, but his time is short. As we persevere in faith, God will sustain us until Christ’s return.
Message: “Revelation – The Seven Trumpets” from Jared Jenkins
A message from the series “2025 – Persevere in Faith – The Book of Revelation – The Things That Must Soon Take Place.” This week we will keep plunging deeper into our study of Revelation looking at the seven trumpets in Revelation 8:6-11:19. This is a large chunk of scripture, in fact the largest we will cover in this series at one time, that deals with the theme of the sounding of the seven trumpets of judgment. These chapters in Revelation encourage us to persevere as faithful witnesses to the Gospel in these latter days as God redeems this world and brings his kingdom from heaven to earth. These will not be easy days for the church, and terrible days for unbelievers, but God and the Lamb will prevail. His kingdom will be established and for those that persevere with him in faith all the way to the end, we will dwell in the presence of the Lord forever, have all wrongs made right, and get to enjoy the New Heavens and Earth with Him.
Message: “Revelation – The Seven Seals” from Jared Jenkins
A message from the series “2025 – Persevere in Faith – The Book of Revelation – The Things That Must Soon Take Place.” Today we will continue our Revelation series looking at Revelation 6-8:5 and the opening of the seven seals. This is where things get spicy!
As we go through the second part of our Revelation series, the goal is not to understand every detail, but rather the big things God wants to say to us about what is to come and how we can persevere as believers in faith through it all. In these chapters we wrestle with the question, ‘Who can stand in the midst of the judgments God is bringing on the earth?’ The answer is those that have been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb and sealed by God for salvation.
